Aquaculture Technology & Research Foundation India (AQUAFIN) was created on 28th September,2020 in Chennai with the sheer intention of making fisheries and aquaculture sector a skilled one!
AQUAFIN works to learn along with and support individuals hailing from fisheries and aquaculture background.
Fisherfolk is suffering in life's unfortunate circumstances for their livelihood and survival.AQUAFIN intends to secure the life of fisherfolk through its possible interventions for providing better employement and education for their children in the Fisheries sector. The Chairman of AQUAFIN , Prof.S.Felix has more than three decades of experience in Fisheries and Aquaculture. Kerina De Floras, a senior content writer and nature lover is a trustee and helps the organisation for its reach in the sector.
The trustees work together in a spirit of camaraderie and determine the work of the trust increasingly in consultation with its many beneficiaries who are still very young people.
The trust works with individuals through collaborative initiatives in areas of education, health, livelihoods, culture and ecology especially engaging with the old, the young and women.
AQUAFIN has followed its vision - ‘Integrating the conventional and advanced aquaculture technologies to uplift the livelihood of the stakeholders in the aquaculture sector” in true terms by earning a progressive reputation in the field of aquaculture and fisheries. AQUAFIN has strong bond of professional relationship with the National and International funding agencies with the pursuit of academic & research excellence. AQUAFIN, aims to chisel out the positive influence in the society by promoting aquaculture to nurture the Indian Aquaculture sector through its Skill Development Academy for Fisher Workforce.
