Vice Chancellor, Tamil Nadu Dr.J. Jayalalithaa Fisheries University, (24.04.2017 to 23.04.2020)

  • Developed 45 Constituent Units for the University all over the state in a short span of time( 2017-2020)
  • Contributed for obtaining 12-B status from UGC and ICAR Accreditation for TNJFU, ICAR Accreditation for FCRI, Ponneri and AICTE Accreditation to the Fisheries Engineering College.
  • Developed a dozen Off-Campus Facilities for TNJFU for the benefit of students & farmers.
  • Mobilized Rs.300 crore for the Global Investment Meet (GIM,2017)in Aquaculture & Fisheries Sector at Tamil Nadu
  • Obtained the Status of Regional Training Centre to TNJFU for conducting Skill Development Trainings in various technologies to many states in India from NFDB, Hyderabad
  • Major Construction/Infra works worth Rs. 12987.74 Lakhs and Minor construction works of Rs.2651.62 Lakhs were carried out to develop numerous infrastructures ( Eg - FCRI, Thalainayeru, DIVA, Muttukadu, ARFF, Madhavaram, PRFF, Pulicat, BRFF, OMR, Research & Extension Centres at Trichi, Rameshwaram, Mylaudy, Thoothukudi, Thoothur, College of Fisheries nautical Technology, Thoothukudi, etc)
  • TNJFU had the best Ranking : Ranked 30th among the SAUs in India and FIRST in TamilNadu by the ICAR in 2018; 34th Rank in 2017.

Dean, Fisheries College & Research Institute, Ponneri, (2014 to 2017)

  • Established three Off Campus Farm Facilities at Madhavaram, OMR & Pulicat with innovative inland culture systems viz. a state-of-art hatchery, raceways, lined ponds and an Aquaculture Biotech Lab.
  • An ‘Aquatic Rainbow Technology Park’ and an ‘Aquatic Rainbow Mall’ at Madhavaram Milk Colony to create a state-of-art facilities for the Ornamental Fish sector of Tamil Nadu state where established for the FIRST time in the country with a budget outlay of Rs.10.30 cr.
  • Worked relentlessly to introduce innovative aquaculture systems in India for Fresh water, Brackish water and Marine candidate species ( RAS – Seabass and RAS-Shrimp and RAS- Tilapia/Etroplus)
  • Established a Museum, Library, Computer Lab and all the infrastructures including 7 Departments and hostels to accommodate 250 students and a Meditation Centre as per the ICAR Guidelines

President, Asian Pacific Chapter of the World Aquaculture Society (APC-WAS), (2017 to 2019)

  • WAS is the reputed International body, has its Head Quarters at USA. It has a Chapter for Asian Pacific Countries including India.
  • Elected to this organization (by International voting) in the year 2017-18 as President-Elect. I was serving as President & Past-President in 2018-19 and 2019-20 respectively.
  • It was for the first time an Indian fisheries scientist could become the President of this reputed organization.
  • Enrolled maximum members (a record!) to the tune of over 2000 Members (from India) for WAS-APC.

Director, Asian Pacific Chapter- World Aquaculture Society (APC-WAS), (2015 to 2017)

  • Completed a 2 years’ term as Director of the Board of WAS-APC from 2015 to 2017
  • During this period, visited many countries of Asian Pacific region (Singapore, Malaysia, China, Taiwan and Indonesia) and developed a good NETWORK with International scientists/Industries.

National Co-Chair, Asian Pacific Aquaculture’2019 – APA’19,

  • Organised a Mega International Conference cum Expo. in Chennai, India (19-21, June 2019) joining with World Aquaculture Society.
  • Scientists & Industries from 70 Countries participated and private companies and government organisations exhibited their products over 250 booths
  • 1000 Abstracts were read in the Conference and witnessed 3500 Participants in the event
  • It was the Mega event ever organised in India for the Aquaculture Sector

Chairman, BSMA (ICAR) National Committee for PG & Ph.D. – Curriculum Revamping, (2018 to 2020)

  • Chaired a Committee of 13 National Level Faculty / Scientists
  • Revamped the entire Curriculum & Syllabus of all PG & Ph.D. Programs in Fisheries Science
  • Final report of BSMA Committee was submitted in Nov. 2019 to ICAR for approval

  • Served for 8 years in this prestigious National Committee of DBT, New Delhi
  • Guided young scientists to obtain Research Grants from DBT, New Delhi
